TEXAS NOTARY PUBLIC FEES
***Tex Gov't Code Ann §406.024 sets out the maximum fees a Notary Public, or their employer, may charge for notary public services. Sec. 603.008 of the Gov't Code requires a Notary Public to keep posted the fees that a notary is authorized by law to charge. Sec 603.007 of the Gov't Code states that a Notary Public must itemize the fees the notary charges for performing notarial services. A fee under this chapter is not payable to whom the fee is due until the clerk or officer to whom the fee is due produces and signs a bill containing the details of the fees to the person who owes the fee.
Notary Public may charge the following fee:

Certificate and seal to a protest $4.00
Taking the acknowledgement or proof of any deed or other instrument in writing, for registration, including certificate ans seal:

(1) for the first signature $10.00

(2) for each additional signature $1.00
- Administering an oath or affirmation with certificate and seal $10.00
- All certificates under seal not otherwise provided for $10.00
- Copies of all records and papers in the Notary Public's office, each page $1.00
- Taking the depositions of witnesses, for each 100 words $1.00
- Swearing a witness to a deposition, certificate, seal and other business connected $10.00
with taking the deposition
- All notarial acts not provided for $10.00
These fees for notarial acts are the only fees govern by Texas law. Travel fees as well as any fees pertaining to other services not of a notarial act are set by the business providing the service.
